Happy 4 of July to you and your family. I hope your summer is going well and that you have a happy and safe July 4 celebration. Yes, it is also the 250 celebration of our United States.
I can remember when there was a celebration in 2001 for the 225 anniversary of the United States. I remember all of the fan fair, celebrations on TV, fireworks shows, and joy that it brought to me as I watched the celebrations. I am not sure what to expect from the 250 celebration of the United States. At this point, it seems as though it is going to be more of a celebration of Donald Trump than the 250 anniversary of the United States. It is going to be interesting.
For our family, this is the first time in a number of years that we will not have a little dog in our world that is scared of the fireworks. We have already heard some large booms in the night leading up to Independence Day and I am sure there will be more to come. Oliver was so scared when this time of year would occur. He would hide behind furniture and shake because he did not understand what was happening. He will not have to be scared this year.
